This work was created during the ten-day Marble and Art Symposium, an intensive period of artistic research, collaboration, and dialogue, where the creative process was shaped by both the material and the unique context of the region. What follows is a reflection on the artwork and the ideas that informed its development.

The sculpture is inspired by the seed of the aquatic plant Caltrop. Its distinctive form is not merely aesthetic but the result of evolution: its spikes and geometry allow the seed to anchor itself to the bottom of a lake, where it can establish itself in the ideal environment for growth.

Observing this natural mechanism led me to reflect on the relationship between form, place and existence. Just as a seed requires the right conditions to take root, people too, are shaped and transformed by the environments in which they live.

The work is also closely connected to the region of Drama, where water is a fundamental element of both the natural landscape and the local cultural identity. Just as the seed depends on its aquatic environment, communities are equally formed through their relationship with the places they inhabit.
