Unity

    Material: Carrara marble
    Dimensions: 27 x 50 x 27
    Year: 2023

Human survival was depending on unity, that’s why human race was developing for millions of years. First a team would have been created, then a crowd and in the end a whole community defending themselves to difficulties from the old times. We, as humans, are creating culture and one of the main reasons is interaction. Dialogue, inspiration and action, are the main reasons we are still evolving.

The whole new environment, to me, the creative vibe and the interactive team of Carrara, led me to create a sculpture influenced by a wasp nest named Synoeca Semptentrionalis. Synoeca septentrionalis is one of five species of wasps in the genus Synoeca. It is a swarm-founding wasp that is also eusocial, exhibiting complicated nest structure and defense mechanisms and a colony. I truly admire that this nest is created by team unity and good will between them. Also the wasps are combative, creative, independent  and they have team spirit. This is the same sense I can imagine for us, visual art students.
